Practice Education: The Foundation of Social Work

Keynote speakers include:
Hilary Tompsett (Chair, Education Working Group, SWRB) -Emerging themes and issues from the ongoing work of the Social Work Reform Board
Hugh Mc Laughlin (Professor of Social Work, Manchester Metropolitan University)
Dr Neil Thompson (Independent trainer, consultant and author) – Workplace Well-being: From Surviving to Thriving
There will also be the opportunity to attend 2 workshops during the course of the day
Workshops include:
- Professional Capabilities Framework – consultation/discussion with practice educators about the place of practice education/educators in the career level framework – feedback to be used to help develop the PCF on behalf of the Social Work Reform Board - Trish Kearney (SCIE)
- Is social work education life changing? A workshop that explores the impact of social work education on the person themselves – Mel Hughes

Fees: NOPT members: £100 (to include 1 day delegate place plus lunch and refreshments)
Non - members: £150 (to include 1 day delegate place plus lunch and refreshments)
