Membership of NOPT
As a voluntary organisation NOPT is solely financed through individual subscriptions and learning activities. The fees are spent on financing the work of the committee (whose members undertake their role in an entirely voluntary capacity), publishing the Code of Practice and NOPT e bulletin and paying the part time administrator of the organisation.Individual NOPT Membership
NOPT Membership as an individual is open to all involved in practice teaching and education. A member is entitled to one vote in the election of the NOPT committee, access to the members discussion forum and conference information areas of the NOPT website, receipt of regular NOPT e bulletins and a concessionary rate for attendance at the annual NOPT conference.Members will also receive a copy of the NOPT Code of Practice, a summary of recent achievements, a membership password (for accessing the discussion forum area of the website), a list of committee members and their contact details.
The membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December.
Associate Membership
Groups of practice teachers are entitled to associate membership through application to the organisation. The associate group should have a link person who is an individual member of NOPT The group should forward its title and the name of the link person to the NOPT administrator by 30th June each year.Associate groups are entitled to:
- The use of the phrase "Associated with the National Organisation for Practice Teaching" in their title.
- The services of management committee members to speak at and support group events, subject to negotiation of time, travel and resources.
- The opportunity to nominate a member to the management committee.
- Concessionary membership rate for one member of the group to attend the annual workshop.
How much does membership cost?
There are two fee levels, the higher of which includes an annual subscription to Social Work Education giving NOPT members 8 copies of the SWE journal each year. The current membership fees for 2010 are £50 or £100 per year (which includes a year’s subscription to Social Work Education at a discounted rate).How do I apply for membership?

Membership of NOPT for 2011
If you would like to become a new member, or renew your membership for 2011, please complete and return the following Membership Application Form (2010), together with a cheque for either:£50.00 (fifty pounds) to receive all membership information.
OR
£100.00 (one hundred pounds) to receive all membership information and to include payment for the journal “Social Work Education”.
The subscription to Social Work Education remains at a specially discounted price for NOPT members.
