NOPT Workshop: July 7th and 8th 2008

WHAT’S NEW IN PRACTICE LEARNING?


 Venue: Hulme Hall, Victoria Park Campus, University of Manchester.

 Key note speakers at the workship are: Michael Preston-Shoot, Steven Shardlow and Skills  for Care.

 The workshop will include the following:

 Integration of theory with practice
 Supporting trainees through the new degree
 Service user assessment in practice learning
 Skills acquisition in placement
 Enabling learners module in the new PQ framework
 Termination of placements
 Independent practice teachers

 Panel discussion: Experience of placement – Service user, student and agency perspectives  (Mike Baggley, Humberside, George Wilson, Belfast)

 Stands will be on display over the course of the conference

 Accommodation at Hulme Hall is in purpose built, study bedrooms with en-suite facilities.  Hulme Hall is a self contained hall of residence within an easy bus ride of Manchester city  centre and on the door step of Manchester’s famous “curry mile” in Rusholme. There is  limited parking on site at Hulme Hall with additional parking available about 100 yards  away.


 The Conference and Workshop will be taking place on both the 7th and 8th of July 2008.  The NOPT AGM will commence at 4.45pm on the 7th of July.


 The cost of the Workshop is:

 £250 for NOPT members

 £295 for non members

 £110 day delegate rate.
